Tough days—we have all had them and I can assure you, you will have them again in the future. The question is, how do we deal with them, particularly as they insist on showing up in our lives from time to time?
What I have learned is the following (bear with me):
We all know, or should know, that everything is energy. Yes, everything.
Things, tables, chairs, food, you, and I are all made up of molecules, and molecules are made up of smaller particles called atoms, the fundamental building blocks of all matter. Atoms are composed of subatomic particles like protons, neutrons, and electrons. Energy. Constantly moving energy!
Thus, everything, including your thoughts, are energy. Now, an interesting fact is that energy cannot be destroyed; it can be altered but not destroyed. Solids can become liquids and liquids can change into gas with sufficient energy applied.
Now if we extrapolate this a bit further, it stands to reason that if our thoughts are energy, and energy cannot be destroyed, our thoughts’ energy cannot be destroyed, merely altered. Take this one step further and you have to agree that your thoughts are creative.
Hence Mike Dooley, the famous international bestselling author’s well know words: “Thoughts become things; choose the good ones.”
Let’s take it another step further, and here I’ll draw on Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work. He advocates that your thoughts create your feelings/emotions, and your emotions lead to your actions/behavior. These three in turn create your personality, which creates your personal reality.
Stay with me, this will all make sense in a minute.
For example, work it backwards and say you know someone who is very negative, always complaining about whatever. He is known as a “negative individual,” his personality is negative. Why? Because his feelings/emotions are negative because he is mostly thinking negative thoughts, expecting the worst.
Thus:
- personal reality: “things are bad; things never work out for me”
- feelings/emotions: negative, depressing
- thoughts: focusing on the negative; “I know/knew it wouldn’t work out”
Do you now see how his thoughts, feelings, and actions have created his personality and personal reality?
The converse is equally true. Positive people are optimistic, have positive expectations, see the positive in most situations, and speak and act accordingly. They have positive thoughts and emotions, thus creating their personality and personal reality as one of positivity and optimism.
Coming back to those tough days: next time you are experiencing a tough day, ask yourself, What am I focusing on? What are my thoughts, feelings, and behaviors based on where my focus is?
Remember, energy cannot be destroyed, but it can be altered. So, try to focus and steer your energy into or onto something that is positive and brings you joy. Practice this and see how it alters your personal reality into a positive and optimistic one. Tough days will become fewer, and when they do occur, you are equipped to change your energy.

“Thoughts do become things; choose the good ones”

Thus, gentle readers, remember you are a creator, not a victim. Become aware of what you are focusing on, because that is where your energy is going and creating your experience accordingly.
