Mike’s Recommended Reading List
If you’re now as curious as I once was to find out “Who else thinks like this?” here are the books that started showing up in my life that gave me the most peace, confirming my own thoughts and suspicions about life and reality. Please note there are two lists below: Books on Awakening (aka Enlightenment or Soul-Integration) and Books on Living Deliberately (via Thoughts Become Things aka Law of Attraction). Whether you seek these titles out, or allow others to find you, if you have questions and insist upon answers, one way or another you’ll be reached by the truth.
Books on Awakening
Books that speak about the ultimate state of human self-realization, otherwise known as enlightenment or soul-integration.
The Starseed Trilogy
by Ken Carey
The Third Millennium, The Starseed Transmissions, and Return of the Bird Tribes predict an entirely new world order in the millennium we are now beginning, to be filled with fully self-realized spiritual leaders. Absolutely riveting, empowering, instructional, almost poetic, with some of the most original ideas I’ve ever read. At this writing, in late 2020, I do believe these are my favorite books on planet earth!
The Hermetica: The Lost Wisdom of the Pharaohs
by Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy
Summarizes some of the scattered and legendary teachings of the Greek God Hermes and the mythical Egyptian sage known as Thoth. These writings are part of a work otherwise known as The Emerald Tablets. An absolutely stunning and mind-binding read, both the translations (from ancient Greek) and the authors’ commentary. I especially enjoyed reading Thoth’s description of what it feels like to suddenly be made one with Atun (God) in his moment of enlightenment.
Ramtha (The White Book)
by Ramtha
Very friendly, powerful, and inspirational. Another easy read and one of the most powerful of all the titles listed here.
The Golden Lake: Wisdom from the Stars for Life on Earth
by Lyssa Royal-Holt
Profound insights (from the Pleiades) into soul-integration, the evolution of consciousness, and how one awakens to the higher realms of spirit (spoiler alert: it can’t be willed or commanded from the ego). Includes excellent exercises, analogies, and metaphors for easier understanding. Epic!
Untethered Soul and The Surrender Experiment
by Michael Singer
The author is a modern-day pioneer into consciousness, who believes that life is the ultimate spiritual path. This author’s insights are truly astounding, especially as they relate to getting out of our own head, where we tend to overthink so much, making enlightenment otherwise impossible.
Siddhartha
by Herman Hesse
Profound wisdom in a timeless, world-famous story.
Autobiography of a Yogi
by Paramahansa Yogananda
This is an account of spiritual seeking, and finding. It portrays full enlightenment as possible for every human, and views it as a worthy goal. Totally WOW! Contains many accounts of exciting super-natural encounters and paranormal events.
Bringers of the Dawn
by Barbara Marciniak and Tera Thomas
While there are small portions of this book I either do not understand or disagree with (such as alien elements trying to influence humans for their own gain), this gem is extremely inspiring. It frequently speaks of a human potential that we can achieve through self-realization that parallels the Ken Carey books recommended above.
The Convoluted Universe
by Dolores Cannon
A fascinating series (off the charts!), filled with mind-bending ideas of our origins and the potential of spirit. By the way, have you heard the audio clip on TikTok and Instagram that begins, “Everything is energy. And you come to earth to learn how to manipulate that. To be a master manifestor…”? It’s from Dolores Cannon.
Two Crystals from Lemuria
by Margaret L. Brandeis
So exciting, a very short read. You will never look at crystals in the same way, and what these crystals share took my breath away.
The Prism of Lyra
by Lyssa Royal
Best explanation ever of E.T.s, their origins, and what they are up to.
Ascension
by Daniel Scranton
Another great series that will entice you to go within. Daniel Scranton, the author, also has a fabulous FREE daily channeled email.
Books on Living Deliberately and Creating Consciously
Books that powerfully explain living in these sacred jungles of time and space; living intentionally using the law of attraction to heal, create, and manifest by design.
The Nature of Personal Reality
by Jane Roberts
Like all her Seth books (and they’re all outstanding), this one is very deep, objective, and even a bit complex, but I consider Seth to be the “granddaddy of them all.”
Discover the Power Within You
by Eric Butterworth
Awesome clarity. Extremely inspirational! Lots of biblical and Christian references, but explained as I believe they were originally meant, without the religious spin.
The Game of Life and How to Play It
by Florence Scovel Shinn
Very simple and powerful advice, written in the 1920s. Easy reading for any age.
Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East
by Baird T. Spalding
Mind-bending! Volumes 1 and 2 are as adventurous as they are inspirational.
Illusions and Jonathan Livingston Seagull
by Richard Bach
Exhilarating, fun, and easy to read. These two novels are on almost everyone’s list for good reason!
Journeys Out of the Body
by Robert Monroe
The classic on out-of-body experiences.
Life After Life: The Investigation of a Phenomenon— Survival of Bodily Death
by Raymond A. Moody Jr. and Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
The classic on life after life and near-death experiences.
Conversations with God
by Neale Donald Walsch
Each of the books in this series is a mind-blower. They’re also very easy and fun to read.
You Can Heal Your Life
by Louise Hay
This book has two parts: a fabulous autobiography, and, the most impressive list of human bodily ailments and their likely spiritual cause (truly stunning).
Emmanuel’s Book
by Pat Rodegast
The entire series of Emmanuel books offers gentle yet powerful reminders of how angelic we all are. Wonderful.
The Prophet
by Khalil Gibran
Another perennial, international bestseller.
The Science of Getting Rich
by Wallace D. Wattles
If you’ve ever thought that you might like wealth, you’ll love this. A truly unique and encouraging perspective.
Messages from Michael
by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro
Very “out there,” yet ringing of truth and containing revolutionary material I’ve not thought of or heard of elsewhere. Helps me to be less critical of others and more patient with myself.
Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead
by Ayn Rand
Although Ayn Rand was an agnostic/atheist, her books are extremely spiritual in that she considered herself a “man worshiper” and she reveled in the glory of life and our ability to have dominion over it all. Her epic novels are spellbinding, romantic, and deeply philosophical, and her talent is off the charts.
The Secret (DVD and book)
by Rhonda Byrne
I’m grateful to have been one of the featured teachers in this outstanding documentary on the law of attraction. It’s as inspirational as it is enlightening.
