I recently received an Akashic records reading from a wonderful practitioner. I asked about my life purpose, which I’ve understood to include having a much wider audience for my books and teachings. Yet currently my community is still relatively small. “What gives?” I wanted to know.
There were many new insights to be had in this reading, including areas where I’m limiting myself and playing small. The gist, though, and one which feels relevant for all of us conscious co-creators, is:
You’re already living your purpose.
Sure, there’s plenty of room for growth and expansion. There are opportunities flowing to us all the time. But the thing that we tend to do, especially when we have those Big Goals, is to keep moving the goalposts.
Finally got your book written and published? Great, but there aren’t that many readers finding it yet.
Wrote more books? Starting to get a steady stream of readers purchasing and reviewing them? Awesome. But you’re still not on the bestseller lists.
Hit a bestseller list in your category? Super cool—but if only you could get signed by Hay House or noticed by Oprah.
Big sigh. That impatient inner critic can be brutal.
The thing we often forget when we’re going for our biggest dreams is that our life’s purpose isn’t just about the goal.
Our life’s purpose isn’t to have the bestselling novel, the dream home in Jamaica, or the perfect partner.
It’s about the journey that we take to get there—or somewhere even better that we couldn’t have imagined in our wildest dreams.
It’s the amazing experiences that we get to have along the way.
It’s the cool things we learn, and the ever-increasing feelings of joy, gratitude, and connection with All-That-Is.
This is the message of my Akashic reading, one which I want to pass along to you.
Slow down. Be present. Notice how far you’ve come along your path.
Savor your triumphs, as well as the lessons you’ve learned from your “failures” or dead ends.
Know that even if your reach feels small compared to what it could be, you’re already having a powerfully positive effect on people in your circles.
You, by virtue of focusing on what you desire and taking baby steps toward it, are already living your life’s purpose.
Yes, you!
Take a few moments today to think about how far you’ve come along your life’s path. Tune in and feel gratitude for all you’ve accomplished, seen, learned, and loved.
Then keep on keeping on, doing your alignment practices and taking baby steps in the physical world.
You’re right where you’re supposed to be—and things will continue to get better and better.
