We are here in this time and space to create our desires, but sometimes it feels like it just takes soooooo loooooooooooong to see any results. Maybe you’ve had an experience like mine.
I was in a conference room with five women. We were sitting around a table chatting as we cut up magazines and glued images to our poster board. The carpet beneath us was littered with scraps of paper tossed together like leaves on the forest floor, scattered images of serenity and prosperity.
After spending all morning imagining new beginnings, dreaming new dreams, and supporting each other, creating a vision board was the final step in my Manifest Your Dream workshop.
We were swimming in the chaos of creation and the heady anticipation of things yet to come.
That’s Done—Now What?
After the class was over, we each brought our personal vision board home and put it in a place where we could see it. Mine was on the wall over my desk in my home office. It was covered with pictures of my dream home: a cabin in the woods. There were pictures of deer in the backyard and a shady spot for reading and crochet.
Honestly, I really tried to visualize that dream and immerse myself in the world I had created in that workshop, but to be truthful, it felt … flat. It was much more exciting to be with others talking about our dreams. I felt like I was a better supporter than a manifester.
Has that ever happened to you?
Visualizing took me only so far. To bring my dream to life, I had to act on it.
Baby Steps Are Key
Baby steps are the tiny actions we take in the direction of our dream. They either move us closer to our desires or help us define more clearly what it is that we don’t want.
Baby steps do five things to powerfully manifest our dream:
1. Increase concentration
When we are scattered in our desires and unfocused in our actions, the universe has a hard time understanding what we want. Baby steps concentrate that energetic support by focusing on a small bit of effort and eliminating distractions.
2. Release positive energy and elevate mood
Positive emotion attracts positive energy. As we move closer to our dream, it can get really exciting. Baby steps release the positive emotions that engage our positive energy. We can see the end result getting closer! When we release positive energy, we attract more of what we love.
3. Collect evidence
Actions create an “associated image” where we can observe that we are doing the thing we want, not looking at a “dissociated image” of our desire, like a vision board. Baby steps prove our dream is real.
4. Move us closer to our dream
One baby step in a useful direction moves us a smidgen closer to creating our dream in physical reality. One baby step in an unhelpful direction is only a slight step off course that helps us to get even more clear on precisely what we do want. The more steps we take, the sooner our dream becomes reality.
5. Engage serendipity
Action invites celestial support. When we are in action, our sensitivities are enhanced. We see more opportunities, doors begin to open, people show up to assist, and the next baby step reveals itself. We begin to truly see how our dreams are supported.
All the benefits of creating a vision board are magnified when we begin to take action toward our dream. As we experience small successes, it magnetizes the next baby step toward us.
As I write this, I’m sitting in my new office. The one with the large window that looks over the pines and oaks that fill my yard. I now live in and work from my little cabin in the woods.
Our dreams are realized with focus, visualization, and action. Baby steps will bring your dream to life.
