Do you have an unhealthy relationship with food? Are you constantly criticizing yourself and your body? Would you love to lose weight and create vibrant health instead?
If you answered ‘yes’ to the questions above, then I want you to know that it is possible to change your relationship with food. And, lose weight for good.
I discovered this for myself when my body broke down, just a few days before my 20th birthday. I was stressed, exhausted and had finally pushed myself too far. My body completely collapsed and I was left sleeping for up to 20 hours a day. My doctor wanted to put me on experimental medication but my intuition said no. Instead, I chose to start my healing journey. And, I’m so glad I did.
On my journey, I healed my body of chronic asthma and eczema. I also lost over 60 pounds (and have kept it off for good). Meditation played an important part in helping me to transform my relationship with food as well as myself…
Enjoying the healing benefits of meditation.
Leading up to my body breakdown, I was stuck in the dieting mode. I didn’t have any knowledge about healing, or awareness about healing tools, either.
On my journey, I discovered a range of healing tools that I could use to start listening to my body, as well as my intuition. Healing tools help reconnect you back to yourself and what is most important to you. One of my favorite healing tools is meditation. Here’s why…
Reason #1 – Meditation can relax your nervous system.
Meditation helps you to become more conscious of the stress and tension that lives inside your body.
With awareness, you can give your nervous system permission to let go of unnecessary stress. This will leave you feeling mentally lighter and clearer, too.
Once you release stress, you can connect with the true needs of your body. You will not need to try to suppress stressful thoughts and feelings with food.
Reason #2: Meditation can be practiced anywhere.
Being a creative person, I like healing practices that I can adapt to suit my needs and lifestyle.
Meditation gives you the flexibility to choose what practice suits you best. Depending on your schedule, you can choose to meditate in the morning, evening or even during the day. You can meditate on your favorite cushion, lying down in bed or outside in the park in the sunshine.
Also you can choose how long you will meditate for. Some days you will have more time for a longer practice. On other days 5 or 10 minutes might be perfect.
Reason #3: Meditation can help you to gain self-awareness.
Meditation can help you grow into the best version of yourself.
As you develop a regular meditation practice, you create the space to connect with your thoughts and feelings. As well as your true needs, values and what you want to manifest in your life.
On your healing journey, there is no need to suppress or numb your feelings. Listening to them instead is the key to start living a life that is aligned with your dreams.
Notice what you are truly hungry for, so that you can create a body and life that you love.
