I think we can all agree that what we need most right now is a bit more love. Regardless of where you stand in the world, it seems there is more chaos than clarity, more violence than vision, and more struggle than triumph and we are all feeling its effects in various ways.
In a political climate that is drawing more divisive lines in the sand than bringing people together, we stand at the precipice of change. In order to get to the higher vibrations that we are collectively moving into, we must find our way through the darkness and the only way through is with love. For as we all know, fear and love cannot exist in the same space.
Below, are four simple, yet effective ways to infuse the world with more love as we move through this transformation together. Because while our earthly bodies are very grounded in ‘what is’, our spiritual bodies are looking forward to what will become of all of this. In one word, peace.
1. Begin with self-love.
One of the surest ways of bringing more love into the world is to begin with cultivating more self-love. Everything we see and experience in our external world is a clear reflection of what we experience within. It’s time to change our inner dialogue to one of compassion, care, and unconditional self-love. It’s time for us to see ourselves as the Divine sees us; beautiful, magnificent creatures that have more power than they realize to create a life experience that supports us all.
Begin by filling your proverbial cup with good food, kind words, and give yourself permission to do the things that bring more joy into your life. When your cup is full and your self-love is pure, you create an energy that can be felt in every corner of the world and this is by far one of the most powerful ways of transforming the world with love. It all starts with you.
2. Random acts of loving-kindness.
It can be all too easy to forget the fact that we are all connected and that we all need a bit of loving-kindness from time to time. Being of service to others is more powerful than many people understand. Whether you give money or your time to a good cause or share a kind word or smile with a stranger, random acts of loving-kindness go a long way. It reminds us that despite the shadows we are moving through in the moment, there is still light. Where there is light, there is hope. Where there is hope, there is change. Intentionally practicing random acts of loving-kindness is a wonderful way of doing our part to keep the light alive.
Not sure where to begin? Here are a few ideas to get you going.
- Put money in an expiring parking meter.
- Pay for the order behind you in the drive-thru.
- Create “blessing bags” for the homeless and disburse them around your city.
- Volunteer at a shelter.
- Leave a dollar (or more) with a loving note in random places.
- Offer help to a stranger.
Giving doesn’t have to cost money… the value of your actions is priceless. Commit to doing 1-2 random acts of loving-kindness a week and watch your inner world and external life transform before your eyes.
3. Seek to connect and understand.
While we are all connected and part of the same magnificent energy that creates worlds, our human experiences are very different. Reaching out to people who are different from you with the intention to connect and better understand their perspective is incredibly valuable. As humans we fear what we don’t understand, and if we can each reach out with the intention to better understand our Divine brothers and sisters (even if we don’t agree), our world will forever be changed.
What we need now is unity and understanding versus division and judgment. It’s time to step out of our bubbles and truly connect with those who are not like us. We must learn from one another and do so with an open mind and a loving heart. Doing it any other way just doesn’t work.
4. Vibrate love.
Each and every one of us has a powerful energy field that can be used to vibrate and send love out into the world, and it’s time for us to use it on a more collective level. Whether you make this part of your regular spiritual practice or a sacred ritual all its own, I believe we all have the capacity to send and spread love without ever leaving our homes. Pure intention and a solid focus is all you need to infuse your energy with love and send it out to the world. Imagine if just 1% of the world were to do this on a daily basis, how much our lives would be changed.
You certainly don’t have to vibrate love in any specific way as meditation, prayer, visualization, chanting, and other practices work in very much the same way. The key is pure intention. By aligning our words, actions, vision and energy with the power of love on a regular basis, we have the ability to transform our seemingly chaotic world into one of incredible peace.
The time has come for us to step up and actively create the world we want to live in on both individual and collective levels. The question isn’t can we change the world with love, the question is will we? I know I am committed. Are you?
