My grandfather committed suicide, and I tried in my younger years, which were full of neglect in an angry, unsafe household. We were punished by being sent to bed without dinner, which is now called starvation, and we were spanked with a stick more often than any of us care to recollect.
When I was a child, I learned three things: that the world is a scary place, that people are angry and mean, and that I was so bad I needed to be hit. Forget what happened in my past lives because there was enough trauma in these few years that I could be messed up this whole lifetime if I so chose.
But I did not so choose because that was no way to live…literally. I was desperate to rid the darkness and fear from my living. I had become afraid of everyone and everything. I suffered mental illnesses, the depths of despair, and I struggled significantly to be in the world.
Thank goodness for books and spiritual speakers. Thank nature and animals for holding me steady. Thank the heavens for divine intervention. And thanks to my coming understanding that guided me to save myself.
Uncovering many answers in my decades of seeking healing, my most illuminating insight was at the very essence of who we are. That we have the power to choose our thoughts and thus create our lives left a profound hope inside me that I could really be all I ever wanted.
I began anew with my beloved soulmate, Paul, and I learned to find teachers, information, and myself. I began to trust my writing path, which was unveiled to me during a second-grade field trip to a stone house by a river.
That day I connected to nature like I had not yet known and could never again be without. Being with the trees and water did something to me, and in the sun, I saw flashes of my future. I ended up writing 22 poems on the banks of that river.
Now I write every day and night, am working on 33 books, have 6 completed, 1 published, and am presently publishing my second, co-authored with Lauren Skye, founder of Inner Connection Institute.
My second healing path opened as I became certified in Feng Shui at the Taoist Institute, a path I discovered in 1995 while nursing our oldest daughter. It explained the way I always saw the world in colors, numbers, and graphs, something that when shared with my now Beloved brought much interest and conversation into our new relationship.
Feng Shui quantified everything I knew from many other lifetimes as it opened my entire world. I understood the ways energy moved, and my life began making more sense as I found my best directions and balanced elements. I have consulted now for over a quarter of a century.
And after much learning and searching I found my third avenue to healing, at psychic development school Inner Connection Institute (in the Berkeley Psychic Institute tradition), where my husband and I became clairvoyant readers and energy healers.
I had always seen lights and colors around people, and finally I gained tools to interpret all I saw and felt. Tools to move energy and create the experience I wanted saved my life.
Here are my 3 favorite energy tools of grounding and releasing, sealing the aura, and creating and filling in, so you too can climb out from where you have come into the shining light that is your healed and happy self:
- Close your eyes and create with your imagination a tube of any colored light from your first chakra, at the base of your spine, to the center of the earth. This is your grounding cord. It acts as a trash chute for any energy you are ready to release, and it stabilizes you as it connects you to the planet.
The old energy goes down the tube deep into the earth to be recycled, and you are free of it. Giving outmoded energy an outlet of release keeps us from experiencing pain, which is what happens when energy has no place to go. - Close your eyes and imagine a bubble around you three feet in all directions. Paint this aura bubble any color you like and demarcate it as your space. This is all the space in the entire world that you are responsible for. Isn’t that refreshing?
Put up your aura bubble any time you need protection or to seal your own space. Play with different colors and layers. This tool allowed me, as an empath, to adventure into the world without being affected by the energies of others. - Imagine a giant golden sun above your head. Choose a quality you would like more of in your life experience and write that word in the sun. Acting as a magnet, this word draws to it that energetic vibration and fills up the sun.
When the sun is full of the quality you want, imagine reaching up and popping it. Let all that golden luscious energy seep into your body, into every cell and organ, and spill out to fill your aura and uplift your vibration.
These tools empower you to manifest release, protection, and creation in your life. Live gratefully, love yourself, and look to the light because it is there!
