Oh... to see dreams abandoned in the name of logic, for being "unreasonable," "impractical," or "pure fantasy" absolutely breaks my heart.
But just as sad is seeing logic abandoned in the name of dreams, with the sometimes overly simplistic rationale that "anything is possible," "thoughts become things," "dreams come true." Ugh.
Logic has it's place. Not because it helps depict the nature of reality (it doesn't), but because it can help chart a course of least resistance, through a maze of sometimes hard-to-detect limiting beliefs, thereby leading to an action plan and bolstering faith, belief, and confidence (speeding up the whole manifestation process).
Let's say you dream of crossing a particular river that has a swiftly moving current, and in your mind you think it can be done in one of two ways: you can either walk upon the water (which you know is possible), or you can physically train over a few months in order to swim across it.
Now, how capable would you be of believing that you will ultimately achieve your dream of crossing the river, using either of the two ways? You'd be very capable. You'd believe, you'd immediately begin training, you'd find it easy to visualize yourself walking the shores on the other side, and it would be a done deal.
OK, now how about if you were only allowed to walk upon the water (which is the predicament people create when they solely rely on the magic to carry them through life)? Would you believe in your dream of crossing the river? Would you be psyched, or scared? Would you start moving toward your goal, or feel paralyzed?
The funny thing is that under the first scenario, with your visualizing and believing (as evidenced by your preparations), depending upon your other beliefs, "the Universe" might intervene and whisk you across the river in ways you hadn't even known were possible -- maybe even sending you a new best friend who could point out a nearby footbridge (I do that kind of thing, you know).
But for the poor chap who insists upon the magic carrying him across... well, he's likely still sitting on the bank chanting, ohmmm'ing, visualizing, burning incense, sporting henna tattoos, even telling passersbys about the magic, but having a heck-of-a time believing that he can walk on water.
The other funny thing is that for having mixed in a bit of logic with your approach, and for having met with your inevitable success, now more than ever you understand that "anything is possible," "thoughts become things," and "dreams do come true."
Sometimes it's spiritual to get logical, to do the obvious, to pound the pavement, knock on doors. Besides, it sure beats just sitting around waiting to win the lottery, expecting to meet your soul mate at the mall, or planning to be discovered at Starbucks...
