To Face Reality or Not to Face Reality – That is the Question
BY Elaine Torrance-Gingrich October 14, 2016
When you first study the Law of Attraction you get excited about the ease of the process. You are to visualize what you desire and what you want will flow into your reality. Simple enough, yes?
You then begin to practice the processes and find that it is not really as simple as you first thought. After all, you've been doing all the processes, taking all the “right” actions, and yet your life is NOT what you have been visioning. What is the deal here? Why isn't this working? What is the missing piece of this Law of Attraction puzzle?
What is missing is the need to be diligent about where you choose to place your FOCUS!
You see, your focus is your Point of Attraction, your vibrational frequency that you are emitting. What this means is that while you may be visualizing more money flowing into your life experience, you are “facing the reality” of the lack in your bank account. The vibration you are emitting is a mixed bag. You are in the midst of a vibrational tug of war. You feel good while visioning and then you look at your bank balance nearing zero and you feel fear. Your vibration is confused, therefore your results are confusing.
Many Law of Attraction teachings tell you to ignore reality. It makes sense because you don't want to focus your energy on what you DO NOT WANT. Yet, you have emotion involved and if you don't acknowledge what you are feeling, that energy is still within your field and affecting the frequency you emit.
So, do you face reality and place your focus on what you do not want or do you ignore reality and hope that your positive focus outweighs the negative emotions within you?
What if I told you that you can face the reality of what is... while still holding the energy of what you desire to create?
Here are 3 tips to acknowledge what is and still maintain the focus on what you desire to create:
- You have the power of choice. You have picked up many limiting beliefs throughout your life. The good news is that you don't need to accept them as your own! You get to choose which beliefs serve and support you and which ones to let go.
Byron Katie teaches that you don't have to believe your own thoughts. You get to assess whether they are really true for you or not. Many of the judgmental thoughts installed in your mind were never your thoughts to begin with. Be the observer of your thoughts. Consciously choose the thoughts you will accept, and reject those that no longer serve you or feel true.
- Know that your desire is a vibrational reality right now. Once you express your desire – once you ask – it is given – it is a vibrational reality. Your job is to get into alignment. Many clients have expressed feeling stuck and powerless in manifesting their desires.
Remember that as a deliberate creator you’re never powerless – but you can think you are and create that reality. Continue to feel powerless and you will create more to feel powerless about.
You want to place your focus on what is vibrationally true – your desire. Spend time feeling the way you believe your desire feels to you and following the guidance/impulses you receive, and your desire will be in your physical reality before you know it!
- Focus on the evidence of change in your current experience – not on what appears to be the same.
Change tends to be gradual, but you can make it drag on longer than necessary. This unconsciously happens when you find yourself saying, “No matter how hard I try, nothing changes. I’m still being held back from my dreams.”
Your thoughts and self-talk are creating exactly that.
When you exercise your power of choice and know your dream is a vibrational reality, you can quickly discern small changes – if you train your mind to look for them.
I am not sure which self-help guru came up with this exercise, but it works like a charm. Every night before bed, look back on your day and identify 3 good things that happened as they pertain to your desire. My recommendtion is to write them down in a journal. Be sure to name 3 different things each day so you will always be looking for new good things.
If one of your desires is to live in a lakefront home with your own private beach, you might get introduced to your friend’s college roommate who now lives in a lakefront home with their own private beach. That could very well be on the list.
As Mike Dooley writes in Leveraging the Universe: “You can’t know where or when the Universe will enter your affairs—only that it will. So just pitch your pitches, take your baby steps, enjoy the journey, and prepare to be astounded.”
Continue to look for the evidence of your desire manifesting. When you focus on finding evidence, the Universe must present evidence to you. The more evidence you find, the better you feel – and you become a match to more good things coming, including your most treasured desires.
