How do I erase my
old wish to die?
Q: I used to want to die. I had a
horrible relationship. After awhile, I became ill with every imaginable
disease. My friend reminded me of my prior wish, and now, I think I've
done myself in. How do I erase my old wish to die? Is there a hope for me?
I am always afraid, and feel I've lost total control of my life.
A: You don’t have to worry about a thing. Your wish to live is much, much
louder than your past hope to die. The present is always
your point of power, and you've
not lost control, even if you think or fear you have. The Universe knows
what you want, and already it's canceled out
your last wish, although it may take a short while to
begin seeing the results. Imagine a very large ocean liner cruising across
the Atlantic, and her captain suddenly decides she must turn around. Because
of the momentum of the massive ship, it could literally take hours for it to
turn 180 degrees around, but that doesn't mean that it isn't turning! The
delay doesn't mean NOTHING
has changed.
And when it comes to matters of life versus death, I often remind people
suffering from cancer or other sometimes terminal diseases, that if it was
the Universe's wish (their own deepest wish) to actually be dead, then
they'd be dead and not left standing around to talk about what's going on!
When you've decided it's time, that's it, you're gone, whereas if what you
really wanted was to change some of your life perspectives, or to punish
yourself, or to go down a new path, or maybe enhance your appreciation for
living, then the cancer experience might be useful for you.
Just try
to relax as much as possible.
Understand that just as your prior wish to die produced illness in your
life, so will your renewed wish to live, inspire health. Be patient, which
will be easier with "truth" kept in mind. The truth that the entire
Universe is in love with you, and conspiring on your behalf to make the
most of all your positive and healthy thoughts. The truth that you haven't
given up, otherwise you wouldn't have written me. And the truth that you
are eternal, divine, and wise, capable of handling any situation. Should
you occasionally find yourself worrying, that’s OK, it'll
pass. Just do your best to stay focused on the good, and that'll
be more than enough.
