My negative thoughts scare me!
Q:
If ideally I'm supposed to
visualize only once a day, HOW do I deal with my negative thoughts all day
long? These are the ones negating my positive thoughts, and this is where
your tape is so different from others in that you explained that it is these
same negative thoughts that keep the positive things from happening. I have far
too many negative thoughts and rationalizations and want to effectively
de-energize them.
A: Your underlying beliefs are always the source of your thoughts, negative or
otherwise, and in Infinite Possibilities I go into dealing with those, how to
find them, and how to replace them, but for you, let me add... DON'T WORRY ABOUT
YOUR NEGATIVE THOUGHTS (we ALL have them). Worrying about anything gives it
power.
Our negative thoughts are rarely as pervasive, or as powerful, as we fear.
Visualizing is MUCH more powerful than negative thinking. In my series I mention
how just 5 minutes a day of it was enough to prevent me from getting fired...
something I seemed to fear (think about) 9AM - 5PM EST!
Just do your best to keep your thinking on track, go easy on yourself and
don’t assume you’re headed for trouble because of your fears, and when you
do feel negative, try to find out why.
