I think you’re doing the right thing by at least working. Be your best. Shine at every opportunity, and continually look for advancement, either with the company you're at, or with new companies as time goes on.
Things can change just as rapidly for the better, so stay on the look out, but the most important advice I think I could give would be to enjoy the work/life that you now have... it’s all so precious.
