How can I stay connected to my highest self so that the best happens in any undertaking?

Q: I have always been an extreme perfectionist and it's always my goal in any project to bring the absolute best of myself (basically, the highest that is within me/within all of us) into full expression in the execution of that project.  My trouble is, I feel like I fall short of that at times and I become extremely angry and leery of further attempts because I don't want to fall short again.  So, my question is: how does one know if one has truly fallen short at something or if it is a belief that leads one to believe they have fallen short?  Perhaps a better question would be: how can one access and/or stay continuously connected to one's highest self so that the best happens in any project/undertaking?

A: I know your frustration! When I recorded Infinite Possibilities I thought most of the tracks were very far from the mark, yet I had a deadlines and commitments so I had to release them. Without those deadlines and commitments the project may have never flown. In the end, the praise and feedback from those recordings has never stopped pouring in. Lesson: Do your best, but don’t insist on your level of perfection (which most likely is just self-doubt). Also, keep moving and doing stuff. Only through experience can we come to learn how unreasonably high our own standards are and begin to appreciate what we create.

To more specifically answer your question: “practice”
