How do I let go of the past and move on?

Q:  I have just come out of a four year relationship and I'm finding it very hard to move on. I have a beautiful boy who's four. I own a cafe, but at the moment I'm not running it very well, as I feel so down and abandoned. I am scared of losing my dream cafe which I achieved two months ago.

How do I let go of the past and move on? Part of me knows that there are adventures in store for me and wonderful things to come. Then, I wake up the next morning and feel lost and alone. I know I have made myself ill - physically, mentally, and emotionally. I want to get out of this rut. How do I find the energy and courage to do this and be the person I know I am and not the person I am fast becoming?

A:  You just have to keep busy, doing your best, with what you have. Fearful thoughts are normal, but you can force yourself to visualize a bit everyday – even through the fear, if need be.

The fog of depression will pass, as hard as that may be to believe at the moment. And in the meantime, you will amaze yourself at how much you can accomplish even while feeling downtrodden.
